Style Icon: Lupita Nyong'o

Hi Guys & Dolls!
It's me again and I'm here to talk all things fabulous! Today's topic is my STYLE ICON featuring Lupita Nyong'o! First of all, I am in LOVE with this AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL woman! She is just a style guru! LOL! I'm not really sure if she ever styles herself or if it is all about her own personal stylist. However, she has come on the scene stealing the show at every event!

So I bet you guys are wondering why I'm so enamored with her. I'm a firm believer in positive representation of someone that looks as you do. What I mean by that is that as a woman of color, it is always good to see another woman of color representing us in a positive and elegant manner. With all that goes on in the media, this warms my heart. It gives my nieces, cousins, etc. a positive example, other than myself, of course! LOL! Positive Representation matters! With that said, I highlight it as often as possible.

So let's get started! Lupita Nyong'o was born in Mexico, to Kenyan parents. She was raised in Kenya and educated in the USA. She is a graduate of the Yale University School of Drama's Acting program.

Lupita's film debut was playing "Patsey" in acclaimed director, Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave (2013). She was also the lead in MTV's award-winning drama series, Shuga (2009).

Lupita's stage credits include playing "Perdita" in "The Winter's Tale", (Yale Repertory Theater), "Sonya" in "Uncle Vanya", "Katherine" in "The Taming of the Shrew", as well as being in the original production of Michael Mitnick's "Elijah".
