Kayla: XMotive
B. Ayesha: How long have you been in business (anniversary)?
Kayla: July 17th, 2014
B. Ayesha: How did you get started in this business?
Kayla: My partner, Devin Artis formed the company’s foundation and brought me on as his partner. We came up with the idea to offer retail and also hit the entertainment side of giving back to the community.
B. Ayesha: What are the biggest issues for running this type of business?
Kayla: The biggest issues for running this business are keeping up with the legal aspect of keeping the company running. In addition to the company we have, we also started a sister nonprofit called XMotive Association which is geared towards strictly the community and offering programs. So, with that being said we keep very busy maintaining both.
B. Ayesha: Running your own business can become overwhelming at times. What motivates you to keep going?
Kayla: What motivates Devin and I to keep going is our success so far. We have managed to build new business relationships, one being iHeartMedia! We know that hard work pays off and all that matters.
B. Ayesha: What is the future for this type of business?
Kayla: The future for this type of business is very bright. We have come up with a ton of good ideas that we are anxious to get everyone involved in.
B. Ayesha: What advice would you give other aspiring entrepreneurs?
Kayla: The advice I would give aspiring entrepreneurs is to prepare for HARD WORK. Dedication, long hours and persistence is key to succeeding in business.
