B. Ayesha's Phenomenal Allies Feature: My Diva DeZigns, LLC

Hey Guys & Dolls!!

I'm so excited to present this week's feature on B. Ayesha's Phenomenal Allies! I'm a big supporter of small business owners. What better way to show my support than by featuring them and helping to get their name out, right? Here's another week of awesomeness!

I'm pleased to introduce to you my Soror Jaqwon Jefferson , Founder of My Diva DeZigns, LLC!

B. Ayesha: What is your name?
Jaqwon: Jaqwon Jefferson

B. Ayesha: What is the name of your business?
Jaqwon: My Diva DeZigns, LLC

B. Ayesha: How long have you been in business (anniversary)?
Jaqwon: I have been in business since March 22, 2011.

B. Ayesha: How did you get started in this business?
Jaqwon: I love shoes and have always been complimented on my shoes so I decided to offer women the opportunity to purchase them.

B. Ayesha: What are the biggest issues for running this type of business?
Jaqwon: Keeping up with changing trends. Trends change so often but you have to keep yourself abreast of what it popular in order to stay relevant.

B. Ayesha: Running your own business can become overwhelming at times. What motivates you to keep going?
Jaqwon: My children. I was in an abusive relationship with my ex-husband. He received orders to another military installation in Louisiana so I packed up everything and left with him. At the time, I was pregnant with our second child and our oldest was 4 years old. Once we got there, he decided he no longer wanted to be a husband and wanted to see other women. He started spending his money on the other women instead of putting food in our household. I still had not found work so I often had to go without eating, while pregnant, just to make sure my oldest had something to eat. Once I had my daughter, I moved from Louisiana back to Texas and received employment again at the same company I worked at before leaving for Louisiana with my then husband. While I now had steady employment that paid me well, I swore to myself I would never see myself in a situation like that again. I would, at all times, have more than one source of income so that I can always be in a position to take care of my children and not depend on others.

B. Ayesha: What is the future for this type of business?
Jaqwon: Designing and selling shoes created by My Diva DeZigns - my own label. I also want to be able to sell these shoes to other stores at wholesale prices. This is in the very near future.

B. Ayesha: What advice would you give other aspiring entrepreneurs?
Jaqwon: It will get hard before it gets better but always keep your focus on the finish line and never give up. The reward is worth every bit of the journey.

B. Ayesha: Is there anything else you would like my readers to know about you and/or your business?
Jaqwon: My Diva DeZigns is a place where EVERY Diva will find the shoes and accessories to fit their style. We offer selections that are affordable and consistent with the latest fashion trends. All of this is what makes My Diva DeZigns the place that Diva's LOVE to Shop!!
