We Teach Girls Shame...

We teach girls shame. Close your legs, cover yourself. We make them feel as though being born female they are already guilty of something. As so, girls grow up to be women who cannot say they have desire. They grow up to be women who silence themselves. They grow to be women who cannot say what they truly think. And they grow up - and this is the worst thing we do to girls -they grow up to be women who turn pretense into an art form.

Most girls aren't told it's okay just to be you. More often than not we're 

literally told everyday what not to do. What action to stifle. What part to cover. 

Never to just be who we are in all our glory and flaws. So we grow up hiding 

who we truly are until we get the courage to just be...  Here's to
