B. Ayesha's Phenomenal Allies Feature: Kindred Dreamheart

Hey Guys & Dolls!! I'm so excited to begin this segment of my blog called B. Ayesha's Phenomenal Allies! I got the idea from another phenomenal small business owner Pelhuaz. If you see one of my earlier posts, she featured me on her blog. I was like okay! This is awesome! I'm a big supporter of small business owners. What better way to show my support but by featuring them and helping to get their name out, right? I'm so excited!

My first feature is a long time ally. She's an amazing designer and even better friend. So without further ado, Let me introduce to you Katrina Pierce of Kindred Dreamheart!

B. Ayesha: What is your name?

Katrina: Katrina Pierce

B. Ayesha: What is the name of your business? 

Katrina: Kindred Dreamheart

[DEFINITION:  Kindred Dreamheart (/ˈkindrid/ /drēm/ /härt/) -  a kinship or similarity in quality to an ambitious individual with BIG goals and dreams.]

[Products:  Kindred Dreamheart offers a complete lifestyle assortment for Men and Women.]

B. Ayesha: How long have you been in business (anniversary)?

Katrina: I started my freelance design business under the name, Kindred Dreamheart, around March 2011.  I started to venture into retail seven months later. 

B. Ayesha: What are the biggest issues for running your business? 

Katrina: My biggest issue has been finding a solution for constant revenue flow.  I find that there are certain times of the year when I am swamped yet others when business lag. While I'm sure this is the case for many small businesses, I hope to someday rectify that with a brick and mortar storefront in a prime location.  Until then I will sign up for pop up shops, trunk shows, booth space, and promoting traffic online.

B. Ayesha: What is the future for this type of business?

Katrina: I will continue making clothing for him and her that embodies the essence of costume design.  I hope to expand to a lifestyle brand.  I want to entertain, inform, enlighten, and enhance, as well as clothe the consumer.

B. Ayesha: Running your own business can become overwhelming at times. What motivates you to keep going?
Katrina: My motivation comes from my family.  I am the first in my household to first graduate from high school and then pursue my dreams.  I have a lot of people I love looking up to me. I don't just do this just for me.  I do it for my brothers, my mom, my dad, my husband, and my family name.

B. Ayesha: What advice would you give other aspiring entrepreneurs?
Katrina: Never give up , and certainly don't downgrade your dreams to what's easy.  Dream Big or Wake Up!
