Hey
Guys & Dolls!! I'm so excited to present this month's feature on B.
Ayesha's Phenomenal Allies! I'm a big supporter of small business
owners. What better way to show my support but by featuring them and
helping to get their name out, right? Here's another week of
awesomeness!
I'm pleased to introduce to you Star of StarSpeaks!
B. Ayesha: What is your name?
Star: I go by the name of Star or StarSpeaks
B. Ayesha: What is the name of your business?
Star: StarSpeaks
B. Ayesha: How long have you been in business (anniversary)?
Star: I named my business years ago. Just really started doing business about 2012.
B. Ayesha: How did you get started in this business?
Star: I've always been a writer & always wanted to start my own business. I started being asked to write customized poems for special occasions. I just needed to figure out the right formula for my work.
B. Ayesha: What are the biggest issues for running this business?
Star: I would say my biggest challenge is relaying that being self employed isn't playing pity pat all day. That I provide real services that people need. Effort & creativity go into all that StarSpeaks offers. Although, what I do comes naturally & is fun doesn't mean its free. work is involved.
What is the future for this type of business? The future for my type of business I would say is plentiful. We use creativity & words everyday! The thing I have to do is constantly work on effective ways to relay & relate it to my audience.
B. Ayesha: Running your own business can become overwhelming at times. What motivates you to keep going?
Star: What I do is what I love! I used to be a Medical Assistant making ok money. The downfall was that I traded my family for a job where I was helping people but it was stressing me out! I had VERY little time for my family & I had topped my earnings. What keeps me going is knowing I can now put my children on the school bus! I can go on field trips & volunteer at their schools. I can be a mom and work (as I have sine I was 16 years old). My children have embraced my entrepreneurship & also help me network! We can do this together & I don't have to sacrifice my children for a dollar! I'm also teaching them the same.
B. Ayesha: What advice would you give other aspiring entrepreneurs?
Star: I would say first off that if its your dream go for it!! You just have to figure out what how it will make you money. NETWORKING, NETWORKING, NETWORKING!!! Its major! This is how we get connections & experience. Ask questions, go to different events, be true to yourself but open minded. You and your business cards are your best marketing strategy.
B. Ayesha: Is there anything else you would like my readers to know about you and/or your business?
Star: StarSpeaks is a business based off of creativity. I just released a book called "Faith Over Fear", available on Amazon & Kindle or through me personally at 1StarSpeaks@gmail.com. I offer customized poems for special events, I offer Personal Stylist services as well as Closet styling, lookout for more products from StarSpeaks coming soon!! Oh, I'm also a bartender!!
