5 Things to consider when choosing a personal care service provider.

Greetings BAye Hive!

I am the type of person that once I find a personal care service provider I like; I’m going to be a pretty loyal customer until we are separated by something permanent like a move. With that being said, these are the things I look for when choosing those providers.

Professionalism

Professionalism is a must! I will have done my homework prior to booking any consultation or appointment far in advance. That includes their media and their reviews. The good and bad reviews because not all bad reviews are the fault of the provider. I know the saying “the customer is always right” but I do not agree with that saying. (Sometimes customers can be extremely rude and disrespectful.) I have read poor reviews that clearly proved the writer was the issue.

Compatibility (Energy)

Compatibility is important to me. Their energy upon our first meeting will tell me if I’m even staying.  Even later in our client/provider relationship, if my service provider and I are not on the same page then I must move on. For example, if I were to ask for a particular type of service and the provider chooses to ignore that doing what they want, that would be a problem. Clearly, they have ignored my service request and I would not be a happy camper. Think stylist cuts 4 inches instead of the 2 inches requested without consulting you first.

Cleanliness

It has been said that cleanliness is next to godliness and I promise when it comes to my personal care providers, they need to be in the godliness bubble. I’m looking at everything. Personal hygiene, tools sanitation, and facility cleanliness. This would also be a deal breaker on sight. The Professor does not do filth.

Timeliness

I cannot get my time back. I understand 5 to 10 minutes but anything more I’m going to believe there is a time management issue. Either my provider is overbooking, not allotting enough time per service or not including breaks for personal necessities like eating and using the restroom. I have walked out of a location for this very reason.

Passion

Being passionate about servitude, whatever it is, shows when it is spoken about. People who are passionate about the services they provide tend to talk about it excitedly. It’s almost as if in that moment before they begin to talk about their services, someone has injected them with pure sugar! They are so hype and that makes me look forward to the service and the finished product or feeling.

Final Thoughts

I have found that sticking to these things just work for me and it has not steered me wrong. Through the years, moving from place to place, I have had to do make these decisions many times. These may not be your top criteria for choosing a service provider, but they can help if you need a way to narrow it down. What are some things you look for when choosing a service provider? Hit me up and let me know if you look for something different or if I missed something.

Until next time remain…
